We use two different high end resin compositions for our Plastic Furniture
Polycarbonate resin is gorgeous and built to last, but it also has a fine surface finish that must be factored into the cleaning regimen. Polycarbonate Resin mush be washed carefully to prevent scratching. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or cleaners with chemicals in them. Generally speaking, a microfiber cloth (or other high-quality lint-free cloth) and clear water will be enough to clean these pieces of furniture. If heavier cleaning is required, a mild soap can be used along with the cloth and water. Do not use chemical cleaners. After cleaning: rinse with warm water and wipe clean with a soft cloth.
Without question, the polycarbonate chairs we offer can be used outdoors; even for more than “casual” use, but they are designed primarily for indoors use. Long-term storage should place these chairs out of harsh outdoor conditions. Such attention will result in your chairs looking as good as when you bought them, well into their life.
Polypropylene Resin (our white and grey “Plasteak” chair styles) can be washed and cleaned with a mild abrasive like Ajax or even just a slight paste-like mixture of baking soda and water. The “pebbled” surface can easily handle the slightly abrasive action of these types of cleaners. Incidentally, more often than not, such cleaners won’t be necessary. These Polypropylene chairs have a surface, and inherent properties that don’t hold onto dirt and grime, simply rinsing with water and wiping with a clean cloth on a regular basis will keep these chairs clean. Alternatively, after extended periods of time outside, or in dirty weather, a cleaning with a mild soapy solution and water, finishing by wiping off with a clean cloth will present your chairs in the same condition as when they were new.
Polypropylene chairs can be used full-time outdoors. They are built specifically to handle all the harsh outdoor environment can offer.
