Outdoor Wicker Furniture Care

Wicker is the perfect no-hassle outdoor furniture material. Maintenance on Teak Warehouse wicker outdoor furniture is minimal. In general, the textured-surface fibers can retain light dust or dirt but will shed it easily with a light dry brushing using a soft-bristle brush or a rinse off with clean water from a hose.

  • If more cleaning is needed, use a non-foaming cleanser with water and a low-pressure hose to rinse off. Combine this method with a light scrub with a lint free snag-free cloth or soft bristle brush. It’s very rare that more cleaning than this is necessary.
  • In the event that you have caked-on mud, food, or other grime, you can use a medium bristle brush and a mild detergent, followed by a clean water rinse. Viro® and Rehau® fibers are extremely resistant to dirt and soiling, and do not hold dirt well, this is also true of our Ecolene® line. This makes maintenance continually minimal. High-grade aluminum alloy frames are used beneath this wicker fiber woven surface. The aluminum used is finished to keep it free from corrosion, looking amazing for many years. This core structure of alloy makes our outdoor wicker furniture amazingly lightweight, but very stable and embodies the easy-care philosophy of Teak Warehouse outdoor wicker furniture.
  • Depending on the amount of use, a woven chair will generally perform very well over time (similar wear pattern to indoor, upholstered furniture). Woven furniture can be left outside all year round and is able to easily withstand temperatures from -20° to 120°. When very cold, the weave will become stiffer than normal and when very hot, the weave will become more elastic. However, it will always revert to its normal elasticity once ambient temperatures stabilize.
